This evening we went along to watch Lanie and her school mates receive their ‘Top Cat’ awards.

I took advantage of the event to sneak in a quick portrait picture.

Every room should have lots of old cameras

We booked ourselves into a bed and breakfast just down the road from our wedding reception. I wonder at the coincidence of the use of cameras to accessorise our room.

Spring is sprung…

In an act of desperation to get our pictures for the day we dashed out into the back yard to grab some pictures before the sun went down. Ginger found some buds starting on the silver maple tree, which are quite alien looking.

Andy’s

Tonight we went to the library where I found a book on cabinet making, Ginger found a book on knitting (gosh we are sounding old) and I think books by Stephen King were also obtained. Afterwards we used up a Christmas present gift token for Andy’s frozen custard.

“The way I see it”

Today saw a major push in wedding preparations. Visits to jewelers, the florist, sorting out invites, not to mention getting the car inspected and oil changed. We also went down town with Ginger’s parents to check out the reception venue.

Between visits to Jewelers we popped into Starbucks and grabbed some coffee and a well earned rest. The quotation on Ginger’s cup seemed particularly appropriate.

Lanie

This is Lanie caught being a bit subdued – which is fairly unusual.

Of course if you could see the un-cropped shot you’d also see Ginger imparting some motherly wisdom, again not normally sufficient reason to subdue Lanie. Whatever the reason, it gave me an opportunity to put together a very nice portrait.

We were sitting chatting in the Church hall before before the nine am service when I noticed this play of light on the wall. A disadvantage of having children in the choir is they have to arrive early, so no lie-in on a Sunday.
